With it's small wooden head and a bucktail dressed body the Fuzz Bug is a tiny slow sinking lure which both pike and perch seem to show plenty of interest in. Designed to be fished on light spinning tackle on a slow retrieve at sub surface to one metre below the surface, a steady retrieve or slow twitches usually results in quite subtle takes. This lure is probably about as near as you will get to a pike fly and is ideal for fishing close to vegetation and amongst weed pockets in fairly shallow water. Most effective from early spring to late autumn when used in conjunction with 10 - 20lb braid and a light wire trace.
