The Wagtail is a fairly slow sinker - approximately one foot every two seconds - and although it can be twitched, a straight slow crank or even slow troll is most effective. On a straight retrieve its hinged wooden tail will wag steadily and from side to side triggering even dormant hard to tempt predators. Best times to use this lure are from spring right through to early winter in depths of between one and four metres of water.
